I checked several sources, and they all vary somewhat from just below a cup to a cup. When I measured my semolina on my scale it came to just under a cup, so you are definitley off with the 1/2 cup conversion. I will go by texture more than exact flour amounts and hope for the best. But consider rechecking your conversions. thanks

I made these for the second year in a row and no it wasn’t a fluke. They are the best melomakarona ever. Even my mom, who used to make them, loves them. 1 2x the recipe. Yummm. The dough was perfect. I measured using cups and it worked out great. Put a little less sugar in the syrup.

My only thing is I don’t need 8 cups and a little more liquid like some more orange juice would be perfect. They came out fluffy moist in the middle and nice and crunchy on the outside before adding the syrup so good.
